  1. About the book

The Abominables follows a family of yetis who are forced, by tourism, to leave their home in the Himalayas and make their way across Europe to a possible new home. Siblings Con and Ellen shepherd the yetis along their eventful journey, with the help of Perry, a good-natured truck driver. Through a mountain rescue in the Alps and a bullfight in Spain, the yetis at last find their way to an ancestral estate in England—only to come upon a club of voracious hunters who have set their sights on the most exotic prey of all: the Abominable Snowmen.

  6. I love the Abominables! It is soooo good and I think that Eva Ibbotson is such a good author. I like Lucy the Yeti because she is always eating. The book is quite sad because the yetis are in danger and Agatha needs to help them. Please say if you like the book. I need to read one dog and his boy. It sounds like a good book.

    • About the book

The story starts with an explorer who goes around the world collecting herbs. He has a daughter, Agatha, who he loves very much who he takes on a trip to Tibet. One night whilst her father is asleep she hears a rumbling sound coming from the mountain Nanvi Dar. She steps out of her tent to investigate and is kidnapped by a giant hairy beast. She awakes in a beautiful hidden valley and finds herself face to face with a Yeti!! They quickly become friends and soon she is introduced to his children, who she raises and teaches as if they were her own. Whilst she is living this peaceful life, on the other side of the mountain huge changes are happening. Hotels and restaurants are built and tourists have arrived ruining the atmosphere.
